Thursday in South Sports

The boy's soccer team tied a very good Toms River South team 0-0 yesterday. Goalies Mike Roura of Middletown South and Don Coder of TR South had 17 saves each.

The girl's soccer team secured at spot in the state playoffs with a 4-1 win over Neptune. Neptune jujmped out to a 1-0 lead with a goal by Bushe in the 13th minute. The Eagles tied the game with a goal by Hayes in the 37th minute. 9 minutes later Hayes scored again to give South the lead. Insurance goals were scored by Bruno and McDermott. Goalie Shawna Hagen needed to stop only 5 shots to secure the victory for the 7-7-2 Eagles.
