Boys XC place 9th in Shore; Girls, too

Today at Ocean County Park, both the boys and girls cross country teams placed 9th in the Shore Conference Championships. Leading the boys was again Pat Montalbano in 38th place and a time of 16:48 despite falling twice. Brian Miller came in 2nd for the team with a finish in 41st place at a time of 16:53. Jay Malejki and John Healy finished 56th and 60th, respectively with times of 17:10 and 17:14. Rob George finished off the scoring with a time of 17:22 and a 68th place finish. Jim Geant came in 79th at 17:30. Dave Liepa finished 132nd at 18:24 to round out the varsity roster. The boys Top 5 averaged a time of 17:05 to secure their Top 10 finish.

The girls also had a great race today. Their Top 5 average was 20:22 to finish only 10 points behind Brick Township. Lindsey Setaro led the way for the Eagles in 36th place, running a time of 19:42. Following Setaro, Isobel Graf finished in 19:59, good enough for 50th place. Brittany Ryan and Carole Spoth finished together in 70th and 71st place both at 20:40. Amanda Sheppard finished 78th at 20:52 to round out the scoring. Jackie Coleman and Ashley Horne rounded out the Top 7, both coming in at 20:55 in 82nd and 84th place.
