Boys XC wins; Girls take loss

Yesterday the boy's cross country team shut out Freehold Township 15-48 to improve their dual meet record to 4-1. Pat Montalbano and Rob George led the way both coming in with times of 18:04. Jay Malejki came in close behind at 18:05 to lock up 3rd place. John Healy and Brian Miller rounded out the scoring finishing together at 18:16 to take 4th and 5th place. Jim Geant came across the line at 18:18 to take 6th place. In other news, the team was ranked 8th in NJSIAA Group 3 in The Star Ledger.

The girl's cross country team lost to Freehold Township 19-38. Carole Spoth led South with a 3rd place finish and a time of 22:01. Kristin Ingegnere and Jackie Abeltin finished 8th and 9th with times of 23:07 and 23:09.

Tonight at 7:00 the Eagle's Football Team plays Tom's River North (4-1) at the Swamp. This one is sure to be an exciting matchup with South's 41 game winning streak on the line.
