Earlier this week, the Middletown South Field Hockey team defeated Middletown North 2-1 handing the Lions their first loss of the season. Sophomore Katie Bruno scored both goals, one in the 9th minute, the other in the 38th, with 2 assists from Beth McLaughlin. This was the first time this group of seniors had beaten North during their four years. The victory brought the Eagle’s record to 4-2-1 and back into the thick of A North Conference.
The boy’s soccer team lost on Wednesday 1-0 to Manalapan. The Manalapan goal was scored in the 44th minute when George Quintano redirected a pass from teammate Eric Illisije past Eagle goalie Mike Roura. The loss dropped South’s record to 1-5-2,
Also on Wednesday, the Lady Eagles soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Manalapn. South’s record is now 1-6.
This afternoon the boy’s soccer team played the CBA Colts, I’ll have results tomorrow.
As of this writing, the Eagles Football Team is beating the Wall Knights 20-0 at the end of the third quarter, while preventing the Knights from achieving a first down during the first half.
