At the Passaic County Coaches Invitational, which was run at Garrett Mountain, Middletown South's Boy's Cross Country finished fourth in Varsity Boys Group 3. They finished 6 points behind Wayne Valley, who is ranked 19th in the state by The Star Ledger. Pat Montalbano led the team with an 11th place finish and a time of 17:34. Rob George and Brian Miller finished back to back in 21st and 22nd place with times of 17:57.44 and 17:57.81 respectively. Anthony Garrido (31st) and John Healy(32nd) also finished in consecutive places. Garrido ran a time of 18:27 and Healy ran 18:28. Jim Geant was the last South runner across the line in 46th place with a time of 19:30.
The Girl's Team won their group with three of their runners in the Top 10 and six in the Top 20. Leading the way was 7th place Isobel Graf (20:50), followed by Lindesy Setaro (9th, 21:18), Carole Spoth (10th , 21:22), and Ashley Horne (15th, 22:17). Rounding out the team's Top 6 were Carly Clifton (18th, 22:26) and Jamie Mastroberti (19th, 22:31). The girl's held off West Milford's girls by 6 points to lock up the victory.
