On Saturday, Middletown South defeated Pinelands 34-6 to extend their Shore Conference record winning streak to 38 games. Senior running back Brian Meeker took four carries for 108 yards and three touchdowns despite suffering from a separated shoulder he injured during practice. Junior quarterback Pat Campbell threw a touchdown pass in the first half to extend the lead to 14-0. Sophomore Matt Martino intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown to make it 20-0 at half time. Pinelands punched in a touchdown late in the game for their only score.
