South's Junior Varsity baseball team was looking for their 13th win in a row, but it fell short and lost to Jackson 10-7 in the Championship game of the JV Tournament. The Eagles fell into an early 5-1 defecit but battled back. They brought the game to 5-4 on Tyler Cottrell's homerun, and tied an inning later on Ken Paterson's. But Jackson was able to take a 6-5 lead in the next frame. The eventually held a 10-6 advantage going into the seventh inning. Chris Bunge walked to lead off the inning, then Jon Altino was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with no one out. Mark Spoleti's infield single scored Bunge and moved Altino to third. Tyler Cottrell was then hit by a pitch, which loaded the bases for South. Jackson's closer, though, was brought in and was able to get out of the jam without surrendering a run. The Eagles record finishes up at 17-4 with the A-North JV Division Crown, and the second place trophy in the JV Tournament.
