SIEGFRIED TAMES LIONS

Sophomore pitcher Will Siegfried picked up his second win of the season by holding cross-town Middletown North down after a rocky start.

The Eagles got to senior Connor Delepine early, putting three runs up in the first inning on an RBI groundout by junior Matt Salmanson, and a two-run single by junior Scott Bruno. North, however, quickly erased the lead with a three-run homer by Delepine in their half of the inning.

From then on Siegfried and senior Tim Ens were able to hold the Lions to only one run over six innings.

Salmanson finished 3-4 with 2 RBI’s while seniors Kevin Slavin and Tyler Cotterell contributed to the win by going 3-4 and 2-4 at the plate.
